Recyclery: Winter Overhaul Class

A six-week overhaul class taught Sunday afternoons, 2 pm – 5 pm. Must register in advance to attend.

The six-session Winter Overhaul Class will be taught by a seasoned Recyclery mechanic. Classes are Sunday afternoons 2-5 PM. You’ll learn how to disassemble, reassemble, and adjust each major mechanical system of your bicycle, week-by-week. The Recyclery recommends taking the Tune Up Class before this one, if you have never fixed a flat.

Cost for this six-session class is $180 (more if you can, or less, if you can’t). Attendance is limited, so please register on the website today!

White (Willye B.) Park: Winter Wonderland Toy Giveaway

The Chicago Park District will host a Winter Wonderland family festival where children, ages 6 to 12, will get a toy and enjoy music, performances, snacks, and arts and crafts activities.

This year, the Chicago Park District is teaming up with WGN Morning News for its 16th annual Drive-Through Toy Drive on December 14th from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 2501 West Bradley Place.

All of the toys collected during the toy drive will be donated to the Chicago Park District and will be dispersed to Chicagoland children and families in need.

Toys are to be distributed as part of the overall event. Only one toy per child and the child must be present to receive the toy. Toys will be provided to children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old.

*Donate toys at 24 park locations citywide from November 26 to December 13.

Here's the thing - dancers won't know what they're performing to until it's their turn to dance! Yep - total luck of the draw. The musical genres will be varied, so they really could be dancing to almost anything!

This awesome experience is open to ALL bellydancers & spectators, of all genders, with the only requirement being that they come with the intention of supporting all performers.

Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Party @ Willye White Park

Join the 49th Ward and 24th Police District CAPS office for this fun, safe alternative to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating. Cars parked alongside the Willye White Park Fieldhouse will be decorated for the holiday and loaded up with candy. Your kids can go from car to car and “trunk-or-treat.”

After your kids collect treats, head to the Willye White Park gymnasium where kids can enjoy games, face painting and a mime. Famed wheel performer Wolfgang Bientzle will bring his big circus wheel for the kids to try and Danielle of Jumpilicious Jumprope will provide double dutch jump rope entertainment.
